Congratulations Jason!

Jason & his dad

Today we celebrated with family, friends, and co-workers as Jason was promoted to Master Sergeant (E-8). We are all so very proud of him! I was busy giving Luke his bottle during the ceremony and sadly did not get many pictures with my camera. Jason's parents came to Washington to be with Jason on this special day. Also, our close friends Kathy & Lee Salyer, and Alyson VanDyke joined us. We are so lucky to have such supportive and thoughtful friends who we just love to pieces.

Although there was much celebrating on this day...there is also a little bit of sadness. With this promotion also comes a move for our little family to Illinois. Jason was selected to be the First Sergeant at a military police reserve unit in Arlington Heights. This is such an honor for Jason and we do not take it lightly. However, we know that we will be leaving many wonderful friends behind. Almost four years ago when we arrived in Washington, we were not too sure about this new place that we would call home. It rained and rained and rained, no air conditioning, lousy Mexican food, and the list went on and on! But, God knew better than we did. He knew that we would meet lifelong friends, become part of a great church, and have our first child in Washington. We will soon find ourselves in that unfamiliar place again...no there will not be as much rain, but there will be snow! I am so sad to leave much happiness behind, but know that God has a plan for us in Illinois...and His plan is always much better than we know!

Congrats again Jason, Luke & I are very proud of you!
